Transplant Day

Today is transplant day! Our Uncle Eric is the donor and is hooked up to a machine for 4-8 hours while harvesting (at least) 5 million of his T-cells, then it goes to the lab for counting and then it will come to our dad. The process of receiving the cells is less than 5 minutes! Crazy! Then...the waiting for his body to respond will be the scariest part. It is when all his blood counts zero out for days before the new cells decide if they like their new home and begin building up again. (Takes about 2-3 weeks)... Infections from no WBC, GVHD, etc. will be the hurdles he will need to get through in the coming days, weeks and months. It is an amazing process! Thank you all again for all the prayers! The first 100 days are the most crucial! Thank-you for praying!
