High BP, but home!

This week was a bit rough with our dad. He got another bad headache, vision issues and upset stomach on Tuesday (and had to travel to an already scheduled checkup feeling so poorly!). Doctor's said the medication he is on may be the culprit, but unfortunately, he needs to stay on those meds...migraine and nausea meds were prescribed to help when the headaches occur...his BP is also on the rise due to medication... and the benefit of the meds he needs outweigh the risks at this time... Our mom has become an overnight nurse, taking dad's temp, pulse o2, and blood pressure several times daily and also takes care of his 24/7 Penicillin IV. She said she is happy to do this, but it is above her pay grade! Haha Dad sleeps and rests most if the time and does his best getting through the day. We make him good meals and pray his appetite improves. He gets labs done 2x weekly at Siteman, and gets any infusions, transfusions, etc. as needed each time. Our parents may be gone a minim...

Fear Not

July 20, 2021 Hey Ya'll! Guys, the Lord is good! He is helping our family through one of the most scariest times of our life, but while helping us He is strengthening our faith, hearts, hope, and bringing us closer to him in such a comforting way! Our brother Nathanael texted this to one of the three of us (Joy) last night when we were dealing with fear and thinking about our Daddy, For I the Lord will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. Isaiah 41:13 Guys, wow! What a blessing! God IS holding our hands right now telling us not to fear- because He IS helping us!! This verse brought tears to Joy's eyes and helped us to see how faith can move mountains, and how God is helping us strengthen our faith right now to move this mountain in our life... Another verse is, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you...

Because He Lives!

July 9, 2021 Hey Ya'll! As of today, our dad has been in the hospital for 8 days. He was originally admitted for neutropenic fever because the Chemo made his red and white blood cells and platelets drop to critical levels. We came to find out that our Daddy has pneumonia. What kind of pneumonia is what the doctors are running tests on. We will keep you updated! Our Daddy's 02 levels are at 6L and he has a awful cough that keeps him awake at night. With the amounts of antibiotics and antifungal meds they have pumped him with, the doctors said the probability of him coming home soon is slim. The meds cause him to not be hungry, but they are managing to get him to eat to keep his strength up. Because we cannot go see him, we text him everyday that we love him and he even was able to video call the three of us! He was unable talk due to his cough, but he smiled and wanted to see all we have been up to! ...
